Pictures of a Newly Discovered U.S. Dinosaur

Assembled from the bones of various individuals, this photo shows the fossil forearms and claws of the newly discovered dinosaur species Falcarius utahensis.

Paleontologists say the dinosaur, part of a group known as therizinosaurs, represents an intermediate stage between meat-eaters such as Velociraptor, a dinosaur popularized by the film Jurassic Park, and plant-eating therizinosaurs. The newfound species probably ate both plants and meat.
